Mr. Sudhanshu Makkar, Advocate, for the petitioner. **** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) Petitioner has impugned the order dated 12.04.2017 passed by Permanent Lok Adalat, Rup Nagar, whereby Insurance company has been asked to indemnify the double accident claim of Rs.5 lacs to respondent No.2.

It appears that Surinder Kaur (respondent No.2 herein) had Life Insurance Policy from the petitioner worth Rs.5 lacs. Her husband was murdered in July, 2014. Regarding this, a criminal case was also registered. On an application being made to the Insurance company, it failed to pay the amount. The widow had to invoke the jurisdiction of the Permanent Lok Adalat. Said Forum tried for reconciliation. It efforts having failed, it proceeded to decide the matter. As no contentious issue was there in view of subsistence of the insurance policy, it directed the Corporation to grant double accident benefit of Rs.5 lacs to respondent No.2 alongwith interest.
