CHANDIGARH CWP-10633-2017 Date of Decision: February 15, 2018 Dr. Parul Bansal

...Petitioner

Versus

State of Haryana and others

...Respondents

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ARUN PALLI

Present:

Mr. Rakesh Sobti, Advocate, for the petitioner.

Mr. Gaurav Jindal, Addl. AG, Haryana, for respondent Nos. 1 and 3.

Mr. Kanwal Goyal, Advocate, for respondent No. 2.

ARUN PALLI, J. (ORAL) The petitioner competed for selection to the post of Assistant Professor in Commerce pursuant to the advertisement, dated 24.01.2014/16.02.2016. However, her candidature was not being considered on the ground that she did not possess the requisite Master's degree in Commerce. This Court while issuing notice of motion on 16.05.2017, had directed the respondents to allow the petitioner to participate in the scrutiny of documents and interview. But her results were not to be pronounced. Learned counsel for respondent No. 2-Commission has produced the results in a sealed cover, which was opened and it reveals that the last candidate, who has been selected in the subject and category of the petitioner, has obtained 69.68 marks (cut-off), whereas the petitioner has secured only 63.79 marks. Thus, it is submitted that the petitioner has failed to qualify for selection to the post in question. Prashant Kapoor 2018.02.16 10:09 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CWP-10633-2017 That being so, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that nothing substantive survives in this petition and the same be disposed of as such.

Ordered accordingly.
