-.- KARAMJIT SINGH , J. (Oral) Petitioners allege that both of them are major and are into livein relationship against the wishes of respondents No.4 and 5, who are related to petitioner No.1.
The counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioner No.1 is having strained relations with his wife namely Pinky while petitioner No.2 is having strained relations with her husband namely Vijay Kumar and now both the petitioners are into live-in relationship and are apprehending threat at the hands of respondents No.4 and 5 who are brothers-in-law of petitioner No.1. The counsel for the petitioners further submits that in this regard the GAURAV SOROT 2022.07.28 17:54 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
( 2 ) CRWP-7233-2022 petitioners have already given their representation dated 17.7.2022 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 but the police authorities failed to take any action.
Notice of motion.
Ms. Bhavna Gupta, DAG, accepts notice on behalf of the State of Punjab. She submits that the concerned authority will look into the matter and take decision on the representation of the petitioners in accordance with law.
In view of above, without going into merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 to consider representation (Annexure P-3) and to provide appropriate protection to the petitioners if so warranted. However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the relationship between the petitioners.
Respondents No.4 & 5 as well as spouses of the petitioners are at liberty to avail appropriate legal remedy against the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, the law will take its own course.
