(ORAL) Present petition has been filed on the ground that 20 labourers working in the Modi @ Modistar Brick Klin at village Amrala, Police Station & Tehsil Khamanon, District Fatehgarh Sahib, are being detained by respondent No.5 to 8 as bonded labour and their wages are not being paid.

On being asked whether the petitioner has approached the authorities concerned before filing the present petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a representation was given to the Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib on 24.08.2021. No representation supposedly given by the petitioner to the authorities concerned has been appended along with the present petition to substantiate the said claim. CRWP-8220-2021 -2Notice of motion to respondents No.1 to 4 only. Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4.

Learned State counsel submits that in case the petitioner approaches the Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib-respondent No.3 with a fresh representation, an appropriate action needed on the same will be taken by the Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib at the earliest in accordance with law.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will file an appropriate representation before respondent No.3 in this regard within a period of three days from today. In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner, it is directed that in case any representation is filed by the petitioner raising the grievance as raised in this petition before the Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib, the same will be considered by the Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib in accordance with law and appropriate action, if needed, will be taken at the earliest, preferably, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of the said representation. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
