(ORAL) 1.
An FIR bearing No. 0187 of 11.9.2020, constituting therein offences embodied under Sections 420, 376 IPC, is registered against the son of the petitioners, at Police Station Nakodar Sadar, District Jalandhar Rural. The son of the petitioners one Gurwinder Singh, the accused thereins, is stated to be missing.

The petitioners through the instant petition, aver that despite their son one Gurwinder Singh, who is an accused in the above FIR, being missing, yet their house is being repeatedly visited by the police officials concerned, and, also they are being pressurized to visit the police station concerned, for the recording of their statements.

After notice of the petition being given to the State, reply has been filed.

A reading of paragraph 6 of the reply, which becomes reproduced hereinafter, clearly reveals, that the petitioners have neither been called, nor have been harassed by the police, as averred in the petition. "6.

CRWP No. 7834 of 2020 -2is submitted that a FIR No. 187 dated 11.9.2020 u/s 376, 420 IPC, P.S. Sadar Nakodar, District Jalandhar (Rural) has been registered against Gurwinder Singh i.e. son of the petitioners. However, the petitioners have no concern with the above-said FIR. Neither the petitioners have been ever called by the police nor harassed. However, the police is duty bound to make attempts to search the accused so as to arrest him. Rest of the contents are denied being wrong."

In view of the above reproduced relevant paragraph of the reply, as furnished to the petition, the above prayer made in the petition, does not survive.

Consequently, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents concerned, to hereafter not unnecessarily harass the petitioners, through the police officials visiting their house, or through theirs unnecessarily asking them to visit the police station conderned, for theirs recording their statements in respect to the missing of their son.
