(ORAL) It is contended that the petitioner was appointed as Peon-cumChowkidar on 14.07.2003 and subsequently has been promoted on the post of Clerk on the basis of a resolution No. 5/78 dated 24.08.2016, however, in terms of the resolution the petitioner herein is required to pass type test of the Punjabi and English @ 30 words per minute. Initially, the date was fixed for conducting the type test, however, the same was postponed on account of Model Code of Conduct having been imposed in the State of Punjab due to elections. A limited prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner herein to an early consideration and decision of the representation dated 21.03.

2017 (Annexure P-8) that has already been filed by the petitioner asking for the type test to be conducted so that he could be promoted on the post, however, to date the said representation is pending consideration and no new date has been fixed for conducting of the type test. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioners and without going into the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the representation dated 21.03.2017 (Annexure Satyawan 2017.05.

CWP No. 10723 of 2017 -2P-8) made by the petitioner to the respondents, by passing a speaking order in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
