CHANDIGARH CWP No.15273 of 2015 Date of decision:28.07.2015 Prince Manjhu

Versus

Panjab University, Chandigarh and others

...Respondents

CORAM: Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain

Present:

Mr. Vinod Gupta, Advocate, for the petitioner.

***** Rakesh Kumar Jain, J.

The petitioner had not completed his degree of B.Tech. when he appeared in the entrance examination for admission in the LL.B. 3 years course because he had re-appear in one of the subjects of the 2nd semester. Counselling for admission in the said course took place on 25.07.2015 and the petitioner was not admitted for want of B.Tech. degree. He has, thus, prayed that he may be admitted provisionally in the aforesaid course and in the meantime, respondent no.2 may be directed to declare his result. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner who has failed to refer to any provision of rules or regulations of the University to the effect that provisional admission can be granted in the absence of qualifying degree.

In view thereof, I do not find any merit in the present writ petition and hence, the same is hereby dismissed. July 28, 2015 (Rakesh Kumar Jain) vinod* Judge
