RAJESH BINDAL, J The Registry has put the file as Cross-objections No.25-CI of 2005 in RFA No.703 of 2004 remained pending, though the main appeal was dismissed by this Court along with a bunch of appeals vide judgment passed in RFA No.663 of 2004 on 2.8.2006.

The landowners have approached this Court by filing the crossobjection seeking enhancement of compensation for the super structure existing on the acquired land.

Briefly, the facts are that vide notification dated 3.7.1997 issued under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (for short, `the Act') the Chandigarh Administration sought to acquire land situated within the revenue estate of villages Nizampur Burail and Jhumru, U. T. Chandigarh. The Land Acquisition Collector (for short, `the Collector') vide award dated 19.1.2000 awarded compensation for the super structure existing thereon. The landowners filed objections, which were referred to the learned Court below for consideration, who keeping in view the material placed on record by the parties, increased the compensation for the superstructure existing on the acquired land. It is this award which is impugned by the landowners by filing the cross-objections.

As none has appeared for the cross-objectors, the cross-objections are dismissed for non-prosecution.
