The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction to official respondents to protect her life and liberty as she apprehends threat to the same at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 10. 2.

It is worth mentioning that the petitioner-Mandeep Kaur is none else but wife of respondent No.4-Devinder Singh. The remaining respondents are members of her in-law's family.

Apparently it is a matrimonial dispute. The petitioner would be well advised to have recourse to other alternate efficacious remedies as may be available including filing a petition under Domestic Violence Act. 4.
