The petitioner claims that his arms licence issued by the competent authority, on expiry has not been renewed on the ground that there are two FIRs pending against him. Counsel claims that at present no FIR is pending against him. He relies upon order the Judicial Magistrate dated 11.2.2013 (Annexure P2) in FIR No. 56 dated 8.3.207 registered at P.S. Payal, imposing fine a Rs.10000/- and order (Annexure P-3) dated 1.11.2010 in FIR No. 26/12.2.1998 registered at P.S. Sarabbha Nagar, Ludhiana acquitting him in the case.

I have considered the contentions of counsel for the petitioner. Section 13 of Arms Act deals with grant of arms licence, Section 14 deals with the circumstances in which the licence can be refused, Section 15 deals with renewal of the arms licence and Section 18 provides remedy of appeal in case the grant of arms licence is refused or the conditions are varied by the Arms Licencing Authority.

CWP No. 1086 of 2017 of the petitioner for grant of arms licence/ renewal of licence is considered by the Arms Licencing Authority by giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. In case the petitioner submits a written representation in accordance with the rules within a period of one week before the competent authority, his claim will be considered and decided expeditiously, in accordance with law, by passing a speaking order. Disposed of with the above observations.
