The petitioner claims that he had applied for arms licence after completion of legal formalities on 1.6.2015 and also applied for entry of another weapon in the arms licence on 3.11.2015 but no action has been taken on his application. The petitioner appears to have sent a legal notice to the Deputy Commissioner dated 16.11.2016 (Annexure P-4). Without expression of any opinion on merits of the case, it will be expedient in the interest of justice in case a direction is issued to the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Amritsar to look into the grievance of the petitioner in legal notice (Annexure P-4) and take appropriate steps by passing a speaking order and ensuring that the claim of the petitioner is considered by concerned Arms Licencing Authority. Notice of motion.

At the asking of the court, notice has been accepted by Ms. Anu Pal, AAG, Punjab. Copy given. The petition is disposed of with a direction to the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Amritsar to consider legal notice dated 16.11.2016 (Annexure P-4) within a period of three months after the receipt of a certified copy of the order, by passing a speaking order.
