Present writ petition has been filed by the petitioners under Article 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India for quashing the order dated 20.03.2024 (Annexure P-14) whereby the order dated 01.04.2016 (Annexure P-13) has been set aside by respondent No.1 holding that the land in dispute vests in the Gram Panchayat.

Learned counsel for the parties are ad idem that the order dated 20.03.2024 (Annexure P-14) be set aside and the matter be remanded to respondent No.1-Joint Development Commissioner (IRD) Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Punjab for a decision afresh in view of the judgment of the Supreme Court in The State of Haryana vs. Jai Singh & Ors. [2025 (4) RCR (Civil) 241].

In view of the statement made by learned counsel for the parties, the order dated 20.03.2024 (Annexure P-14) is set aside and the matter is remanded to respondent No.1-Joint Development Commissioner (IRD) Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Punjab, who shall decide the matter afresh after hearing the parties and in accordance with the law. 4.

The parties shall appear before respondent No.1-Joint Development Commissioner (IRD) Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Punjab on 27.04.2026 at 11.00 am. 5.

Disposed off. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
