State of Punjab and others

...Respondents

CORAM: HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE JAISHREE THAKUR

Present:

Mr. Raman Goklaney, Advocate, for the petitioner.

**** JAISHREE THAKUR, J. (ORAL) The petitioner herein is aggrieved against the action of the respondents in not considering him eligible for promotion to the post of Inspector, Cooperative Societies.

It is contended that the petitioner in graduation has obtained 59.94 marks which in fact should be considered by rounding it to be 60% and, therefore, he would have the necessary qualifications to be considered for the said post. It is also contended that a higher post of Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies does not impose the condition of graduation with 60% marks, as has been imposed as a condition for the post of Inspector, Cooperative Societies. In this regard the petitioner has already made a representation through proper channel to the Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, however, the same is still pending consideration. At the present moment, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner limits his prayer to an early consideration of the representation.
