KUMAR MANOJ 2016.02.27 10:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CWP No.15596 of 2015 #1#

IN THE HIGH COURT FOR THE STATES OF PUNJAB AND

HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH CWP No.15596 of 2015 Date of Order: 24.02.2016 Amarjit Singh ....Petitioner

Versus

State Transport Appellate Tribunal, Punjab and Anr.

...Respondents

CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAKESH KUMAR JAIN

Present:

Mr. P.S. Bawa, Advocate for the petitioner.

RAKESH KUMAR JAIN, J The petitioner is a Mini Bus Operator, holding Mini Bus Permit No.21 MBR/DC 91, on Rajpura to Bahadurgarh route, which was valid upto 05.2.2011.

The petitioner was supposed to make an application for renewal of the permit 15 days prior to its expiry but the application was filed late by two years and eight months and the reason assigned by the petitioner is that he had sold his Original Bus No.PB 11Z 0493, which was entered on the permit and was trying to replace the bus. The application submitted by the petitioner was dismissed on 04.11.2014 against which the petitioner filed an appeal, which was also dismissed on 29.4.2015 by the Appellate Tribunal on the ground that the petitioner failed to give any justification for the delay in filing the

CWP No.15596 of 2015 #2# application for renewal.

I also do not find any substance in the arguments of the petitioner in order to condone the delay in filing the application late by two years and eight months. Consequently, the present petition is devoid of any merit and the same is hereby dismissed.
