KUMAR MANOJ 2016.07.29 09:14 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

IN THE HIGH COURT FOR THE STATES OF PUNJAB AND

HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH CWP No.14659 of 2016 Date of Order: 26.07.2016 Ravi Kumar ....Petitioner(s)

Versus

Union of India and another ....Respondent(s)

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAKESH KUMAR JAIN

Present:

Mr. P.S. Jammu, Advocate for the petitioner.

RAKESH KUMAR JAIN, J (ORAL) The petitioner had applied for the post of Notary in the State of Haryana. He appeared for the interview on 23.5.2016, which was conducted by Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) Kendriya Sadan, Sector 9-A, Chandigarh.

It is alleged that the petitioner was not selected because he was younger in age. Against the rejection of his application, petitioner filed a review application on 29.6.2016 but the said application for review is still pending whereas the respondents are likely to appoint the selected candidate as Notary before his review application is decided. Although, primarily the petitioner has made two prayers in this petition but he restricts his prayer to prayer No.(iii) for seeking a direction to respondent No.2 to decide his review application expeditiously preferably within one month. Keeping in view the innocuous prayer made by the petitioner, I do not find it necessary to issue notice to the respondents but this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the review application filed by the petitioner as early as possible, preferably within one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Ordered accordingly.
