(Oral) The petitioner, in the present petition, has sought a declaration that passport No. J-5760068 dated 15.02.2011 is a valid passport. It has been urged before the court that the petitioner was informed that the passport with the same number had been issued in the name of another Rajwinder Kaur by Passport Office, Surat.

Reply on behalf of Union of India has been filed. Learned counsel has referred to Paras 3 and 4 thereof. Same read as under:- "3.That upon receipt of notice from this Hon'ble Court as well as written communication received from Passport Office, Chandigarh, in this regard, the respondent No.4 i.e. Passport Office, Surat has checked up its record and found that no passport as claimed in the present writ petition being Jurisdiction-5760068 dated 05.05.2014 had ever been issued by the Passport Office, Surat. A written communication dated 20.09.2017 had been addressed to the Passport Office, Chandigarh by the Passport Office, Surat.

4. That there is no hindrance for the petitioner for the usage of passport as per her requirement."

He further submits that recently a communication has been received from Passport Office, Surat, that there is no passport bearing No.J5760068 in existence in the said office. In view of the fact that the grievance of the petitioner has been redressed, no further direction is necessary. Petition is hereby disposed of. At this stage, Mr. Goel, submits that RPO, Chandigarh, shall ensure that no passport of the same number exists. If possible, it shall also get an enquiry conducted into the fact that whether any such passport was ever used at any stage by any other person.
