PANKAJ JAIN, J. (ORAL) By way of present writ petition filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners are seeking issuance of directions to respondents No.1 to 5 to protect their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.6 to 8.
Notice of motion.
Mr. Jaspal Singh Guru, A.A.G., Punjab appears and accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents. As per the petitioners, they have married on 13.06.2023 against the wishes of respondents No.6 to 8, who happen to be the family members/ relatives of petitioner No.2 i.e. Neetu Sharma. Both the petitioners have claimed themselves to be major relying upon their Aadhar Cards indicating that petitioner No.1-Somnath is 01.05.1995 born and petitioner No.2-Neetu Sharma is 29.01.2003 born. CRWP-6135-2023 -22023:PHHC: 082196 marriage, I deem it appropriate to direct respondent No.2 (Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anandpur Sahib, District Rupnagar, Punjab) to look into the representation dated 13.06.2023 (Annexure P-4) submitted by the petitioners.
Keeping in view the fact that both the petitioners claim to have married, I think that if possible, respondent No.2 may call a meeting of the petitioners as well as respondents No.6 to 8 in his presence, so that the parties get rid off their ill feelings and live amicably. The petition stands disposed off.
