The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India read with Section 3 of the Haryana Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 2022, issuing writ in the nature of mandamus for directing the respondents/State to extend the time period of temporary release of parole of petitioner for another eight weeks as requested by the petitioner vide his application 13.06.2023 in view of the fact that the mother of the petitioner is to undergo operation of total knee replacement surgery. 2.

Learned State counsel apprised this Court that the parole to the petitioner had been granted by the authorities till 20.06.2023. However, prior to expiry of the said period, he filed the present petition seeking extension of eight weeks, on account of the fact that his mother had undergone knee replacement on 25.06.2023. This Court vide order dated 19.06.2023 issued notice for 11.07.2023 and extended the parole till the said date but the petitioner has not surrendered. By now the period for which the extension was sought in the present case, i.e. for 8 weeks, has long elapsed and thus by way of interim order the prayer sought has Ankur Goyal 2023.09.02 08:49 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

CRWP-6136-2023 -2already been granted rendering the petition as infructuous. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner unable to dispute the aforesaid position, assures that the petitioner shall now surrender before the authorities on or before 05.09.2023.
