Present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant interest @ 18% per annum for delayed payment of retirement benefits as reflected in the revised speaking order dated 13.07.2020 (P55).
At the outset, instead of pressing the petition on merits, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied in case representation dated 13.07.2020 (P54) is decided by the competent authority, expeditiously.

Ms. Simran Grewal, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and she is not averse for the innocuous prayer made by the petitioner.

In view of the agreed stand taken by both sides, but without going into the merits of the case, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose off the present petition with a direction to respondent No.35 Executive Officer, Nagar Council, Gidderbaha, District Sri Muktsar Sahib, to consider and decide representation dated 13.07.2020, if the same is pending, by passing speaking order in accordance with law, preferably within a period of 8 weeks' from today.
Ordered accordingly.
