Mr. Arvind Kumar Yadav, Advocate for respondent No. 7 to 10. ***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J .(Oral) The petitioner Sumitra Devi approached this Court seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for release of her son Constable Randheer suspected to be illegally detained by her inlaws i.e. private respondents No. 7 to 10.

Reply has been filed by way of affidavit of Shri Anil Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kosli, District Rewari on behalf of respondents No. 2 and 3 wherein it has been deposed that local police had visited the residential premises of respondents No. 7 to 10 where respondent No. 7, 9 and 10 were found present and the premises were searched and their statements were also recorded but the alleged detenue was not found there. Pursuant to order dated 11.12.2018 passed by this Court, a status report by way of affidaivt of Shri Jastinder Singh, DSP, Sub-Division,

- 2 - Faridkot on behalf of respondents No. 5 and 6 has also been filed wherein it has been deposed that DDR No. 22 dated 24.1.2018 was recorded upon an information having been received from BSF authorities to the effect that Constable Randheer Singh was missing and that investigation had been commenced in the matter and all the State Police Stations had been informed through wireless and e-mail messages and a Hue and Cry notice had also been issued. It has further been deposed therein that call details records of mobile numbers 88378-97939 and 97793-74268 were also obtained and examined but nothing unusual came to light. It has also been deposed that respondent No. 7 who happens to be the wife of missing Randheer Singh was also joined in enquiry/investigation but she has no role to play in disappearance of her husband. It has been stated that sincere efforts are being made but no clue regarding the whereabouts of Constable Randheer Singh has been obtained so far.

None has put in appearance on behalf of the petitioner. The aforesaid affidavits show that the detenue was not found at the residence of private respondents No. 7 to 10 who were suspected to have illegally detained him. The affidavits further disclose that intensive efforts are being made to trace the whereabouts of missing Randheer Singh but till date no headway has been made.

In view of the aforestated position, no further direction is required to be made at this stage in this Habeas Corpus petition. The petition, as such, is disposed of with a direction to official respondents to

- 3 - intensify their efforts for tracing the whereabouts of the missing Randheer Singh.
