***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J. (Oral) Pursuant to receipt of letter dated 02.08.2018 from Sukhwinder Kaur wife of Kulwinder Singh, the same was ordered to be treated as Criminal Writ Petition.

Sukhwinder Kaur in her letter had alleged that on 02.08.2018, when she was present in her home along with other members of the family then 15-20 police officials wearing civil uniform barged into her house and conducted search and when her husband objected to the same, they forcibly took him away.

Notice of motion was issued to the State of Punjab. Today learned State counsel has filed reply by way of affidavit of Sh. Parampal Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, District AmritsarRural wherein he has deposed that Kulwinder Singh was arrested on 02.08.2018 in connection with FIR No.153 dated 31.07.2018, registered under Section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, at SONIKA 2018.10.17 17:15 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP No.669 of 2018 --2-- Police Station Lopoke, Amritsar and is presently in judicial custody. In view of the aforesaid position, no further direction is required to be issued in the present habeas corpus petition, in view of registration of case against her husband. The petition as such is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to have recourse to the other remedies available under law.
