(Oral) The petitioners who retired as Principal, Associate Professors and Lecturers claim that the service rendered by them w.e.f. the date of their initial appointment till the date when they started making contribution towards Contributory Provident Fund should also be treated as qualifying service for the purpose of pension.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the case of the petitioners is covered by various judgments of this Court including CWP No.2258 of 2016. It has been submitted that although the petitioners had MOHAN SINGH 2020.10.06 19:23 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case, the petition is disposed off with a direction to Director, Higher Education, Haryana (respondent No.2) to look into the matter and to dispose of the legal notices Annexures P-3 to P-10 in accordance with law while taking in account the legal position as settled by various judgments of this Court. The same be done expeditiously preferably within a period of 3 months from today. In case anything is found due to be paid to the petitioners, the payment in respect of the same be made within 3 months thereafter. A copy of this order along with copy of legal notices Annexure P-3 to P-10 be sent to Director, Higher Education, Haryana (respondent No.2) to do the needful.
