The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to terminate her pregnancy as per Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 (for short 'MTP Act'). She is also seeking direction to respondents to constitute a competent Board/Authority to form a definite opinion with regard to her and her fetus' health.

The petitioner got married to one Sukhdeep Singh on 12.12.2025. She conceived a child on 22.02.2026. She does not want to continue with the pregnancy on the ground of strained marital relations as well as her future job and study prospects.
