This is a writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari to quash the promotion of respondent Nos. 4 to 6 as ASIs by ignoring the claim of the petitioners being senior in rank to them and having better service record in comparison to respondent Nos. 4 to 6 and further direction be issued to consider the claim of the petitioners for promotion from the date respondent Nos. 4 to 6 have been promoted as ASIs.

Learned counsel for the State has filed a status report by way of an affidavit of Deepak Gahlawat, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Headquarters, Gurugram, dated 10.10.2023, as per which petitioner No.1 has already retired from service; petitioner No.3 expired on 16.05.2015 and TRIPTI SAINI 2023.10.16 10:58 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

2023:PHHC:132260 CWP-2244-2012 (O&M) -2petitioner No.2 had been promoted to the rank of Head Constable w.e.f.09.06.2009 and thereafter was upgraded to the rank of E/SI w.e.f 05.07.2019 by the ADGP/South Range, Rewari. Learned counsel for the State has submitted that the grievance of the petitioners has been addressed. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has stated that in view of statement made by the learned State counsel the present petition has been rendered infructous and be disposed of as such. 4.

Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed off.
