**** JAISHREE THAKUR, J. (ORAL) The instant writ petition has been filed with a limited prayer that the mercy petition filed by the petitioner before the DGP should be decided expeditiously.
The petitioner herein was dismissed from service in the year 2003 on account of being absent from service. Against his dismissal order, appeal filed by him has also been dismissed. Against the dismissal of the appeal, a mercy appeal is pending consideration before the DGP, Punjab. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner herein is in dire need of employment and the mercy appeal should be decided expeditiously.
I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and without going into the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide the mercy petition dated 08.08.2016 (Annexure P-6) of the petitioner by passing a speaking order in accordance with law Satyawan 2017.05.26 10:09 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh
