...Respondents

(Heard through Video-Conferencing) CORAM: HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE MEENAKSHI I. MEHTA

Present:

Mr. Bhavesh Aggarwal, Advocate, for the petitioner.

* * ** MEENAKSHI I. MEHTA, J.

(ORAL) At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that so far as the prayer of the petitioner qua protection of his life and liberty is concerned, he (petitioner) would be moving a fresh representation to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Batala, exclusively praying therein for the protection of his life and liberty only and as regards the rest of the relief as claimed in the present petition, he (petitioner) does not want to press for the same and rather, he would be availing the alternative efficacious and appropriate remedy, as may be permissible to him under the law, for this purpose. He further prays that the said respondent be directed to take appropriate action on the fresh representation of the petitioner within some specific time frame.

Ms. Samina Dhir, learned Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, who has joined the proceedings on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4 in this case in pursuance of the copies of this petition having been sent to the SEEMA SHARMA 2021.09.08 19:02 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document PHHC

respondent-State in advance, has no objection to the above-said submission as well as the prayer as made by learned counsel for the petitioner. Resultantly, so far as the petition in hand pertains to the prayer of the petitioner for the protection of his life and liberty, it stands disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioner moves any fresh representation to respondent No.3, specifically restricting his prayer therein to the protection of his life and liberty only, then the said respondent shall look into the same and if the petitioner would be found to be genuinely deserving the protection of his life and liberty, then he would take appropriate action strictly in accordance with law, in the given set of facts and circumstances of the matter, preferably within a period of ten days thereafter. So far as the remaining relief as sought in this petition is concerned, the instant petition stands disposed of as having not been pressed qua the same.
