The petitioners through instant petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondent No.2-Deputy Commissioner-cum-Registrar, UT Chandigarh to decide appeal No.01/2025 dated 03.03.2025 in a time bound manner. 2.

The petitioner No.1 was lawfully married to one Jaskiran Kaur on 26.04.2007. Their marriage came to be dissolved by way of divorce decree dated 08.03.2017. The permanent care, custody and guardianship of both the minor sons was entrusted to petitioner No.1 who solemnized second marriage with petitioner No.2 pursuant to which petitioner No.2 agreed to adopt the children. They executed an Adoption Deed dated 18.12.2024 which was presented before Sub-Registrar, UT DEEPAK BISSYAN 2026.05.12 17:02 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-14723-2026 -2Chandigarh who vide order dated 31.12.2024 refused the same on the ground that the child to be adopted is above the age of 15 years and there is no consent from the biological mother. They filed appeal dated 03.03.2025 against order dated 31.12.2024 before respondent No.2Deputy Commissioner-cum-Registrar, UT Chandigarh which has not been decided till date.

Learned counsel for respondent assures the Court that petitioners' appeal would be decided within two months from today. 4.

Learned counsel for the petitioners agrees to the aforesaid statement.
