On 29.07.2022, the following order was passed:- "Contends that order impugned dated 08.07.2022 (P-21) is not legally sustainable in view of the fact that respondents themselves have already acted on the basis of draft rules in the year 2001 as one Joginder Singh was promoted to the post of Private Secretary. Further contends that petitioner is the senior most Personal Assistant in the office of the Advocate General, thus, he would be the most suitable person for promotion to the aforesaid post.

The learned State counsel has produced a gazette copy of the notification dated 15.05.2023 notifying the Punjab Advocate General, (Group 'A') Service Rules, 2023, along with the communication dated 15.05.2023 sent by the Department of Home Affairs and Justice, Punjab, to the office of the learned Advocate General, Punjab. 3.
After examining the same, the learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner may be permitted to withdraw the present writ petition as his case would be considered in accordance with the aforesaid Rules.
