(Oral) The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a direction so as to protect his life and liberty as he apprehends threat to the same at the hands of accused named in FIR No. 279, dated 3.9.2020, Police Station Basti Bawa Khel, Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar, under Sections 323, 324, 341, 34 IPC.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case, the petition is disposed off with a direction to Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar (respondent No.3) to look into the matter and to dispose of the representation dated 20.9.2020 (Annexure P-2) in accordance with law at the earliest. ( 2 ) CRWP-8201-2020 (O&M) are found to be well founded and it is found that there is some apprehension of threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps be taken so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioner. A copy of this order along with copy of representation dated 20.9.2020 (Annexure P-2) be sent to Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar (respondent No.3) so as to enable him to do the needful at the earliest.
