CORAM:HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE K. KANNAN 1.
Whether Reporters of local papers may be allowed to see the judgment ?
2.
To be referred to the Reporters or not ?
3.
Whether the judgment should be reported in the Digest? -.- K. KANNAN J. (ORAL) 1.
Both the writ petitions are connected and are being disposed of by the common order. The writ petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that the Appellate Authority under the Stamp Act has not disposed of the appeal but coercive steps are being taken for recovery of the duty assessed by the Collector. The counsel states that he will be satisfied if there is a direction for disposal of the application for stay and/or appeal before any action for recovery of the amount assessed by the Collector is made. Having regard to the limited submissions made, I direct the Appellate Authority to consider the application for stay and/or appeal within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. Until such decision is taken, the order already passed for assessing the stamp duty shall not be put to effect. 2.
With these observations, the writ petitions are disposed of. (K. KANNAN) JUDGE January 30, 2015 Pankaj* PANKAJ KUMAR 2015.02.02 12:16 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
