State of Haryana.......................................................... Respondent CORAM : HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE MANJARI NEHRU KAUL ...

(through video conferencing)

Present:

Mr. Vikas Bishnoi Godara, Advocate for the petitioners.

...

MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners in FIR No. 128 dated 09.05.2021 under Sections 304-B, 34 IPC registered at Police Station Adampur, District Hisar. Learned counsel submits that the petitioners, who are the parents-in-law of the deceased, have been falsely implicated in the case in hand on the allegations that they subjected the deceased to harassment on account of dowry demand. Learned counsel submits that since it was a second marriage of the deceased and hence there was no question of any dowry being demanded from the deceased. Learned counsel submits that in fact the deceased was under depression as she had a daughter from her previous marriage who was staying with her parents and it was on account of this fact that she ended her life.

CRM-M-36107-2021 [ 2 ] A perusal of the FIR which was got registered at the instance of the mother of the deceased reveals that the deceased was married just five months prior to the occurrence in question. There are specific allegations that she was being harassed not only by her husband but also by the present petitioners who happen to be her parents-in-law. Still further, she was being pressurized to transfer agricultural land in the names of her parents-in-law and in case she did not accede to their demands she was threatened with dire consequences. A suicide note too has been left behind by the deceased wherein she has levelled allegations of harassment on account of the dowry demand against the petitioners.

In view of the above, no ground for the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioners is made out.

The petition is dismissed.
