CHANDIGARH CRM-M-28379-2019 (O & M) Date of Decision:24.07.2019 Gurmeet Singh @ Gurmeet Ram

Versus
State of Punjab
...Respondent
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE MANOJ BAJAJ
Present:
Mr. Barjinder Singh, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Ramdeep Partap Singh, DAG, Punjab.
*** MANOJ BAJAJ, J.
The petitioner has approached this Court for the third time under Section 438 Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.67 dated 23.07.2017 under Sections 323, 324, 341, 506 IPC and Section 307 IPC (added later on), registered at Police Station Banur, District Patiala. The petitioner apprehended his arrest at the hands of Police. In the present petition, the solitary reliance is placed upon the compromise dated 23.07.2018. Since the offence under Section 307 IPC is serious and compromise in such cases is not acceptable, therefore, no ground is made out for grant of pre-arrest bail. It is also not disputed that the challan against the other co-accused has already been filed. Dismissed.
