(Oral) This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, read with Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking a writ, order, or direction to the official respondents to provide adequate security to the petitioner and his family, and directing the official respondents to decide on his representations dated 06.05.2024 (Annexures P-19 to P-21) and emails dated 27.05.2024 (Annexures P-22 to P-24) presented by him. Additionally, the petitioner requests immediate police security under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018, for being an eyewitness to an offence culminating into registration of FIR No.68 dated 12.05.2021 under Section 376 IPC registered at Police Station Nathana, District Bathinda(Annexure P-1), in view of the guidelines issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Mahender Chawla & Ors. vs Union of India & others, Writ Petition (Criminal) No. 156 of 2016.

Learned State counsel while referring to Paragraphs No.5 to 7 KAVITA NAIN 2024.10.19 11:49 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document order/judgment of status report dated 11.09.2024 submits that on the statements of Veerpal

CRWP-6245-2024 Kaur and Bhola Singh, ASI Surinderpal Singh found prima facie evidence of offenses under Sections 195A and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against unknown persons, who used certain mobile phone numbers to issue threats and a FIR No. 93 dated 14.08.2024 under Sections 195A/506 IPC was registered at Police Station Nathana, District Bathinda in this regard. After the registration of FIR, the investigating officer requested Call Detail Records (CDR) and Customer Application Forms (CAF) from concerned cellular companies for the mobile numbers of complainant Veerpal Kaur and petitioner Bhola Singh. The officer also contacted WhatsApp headquarters to obtain details of WhatsApp accounts linked to the numbers, which were used to issue threats.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has not controverted the submissions made by the learned State counsel. 4.

Relying on the stand of the State as taken in the status report, I am of the view that no issue is left for this Court to entertain the prayer made in the petition. However, State is directed to assess the threat perception of the petitioner and to provide adequate security if required. 5.

Thus, in view of the observations made hereinabove, present petition stands disposed of.
