(ORAL) Instant writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to correct the date of birth of the petitioner in her passport in view of decree dated 22.04.2015 (Annexure P-1) passed by Civil Judge (Junior Division), Karnal, vide which the date of birth of the petitioner has been corrected from 18.01.1983 to 09.03.1984. Learned counsel for the petitioner has handed over a copy of the letter dated 07.04.2016 issued by Government of India, Ministry of External Affairs, vide which the petitioner has been advised to approach the Passport Officer with original supporting documents within a period of 10 days between 09.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. during any working day. Copy of the letter is taken on record.
