RAMESHWAR SINGH MALIK, J Feeling aggrieved against the alleged inaction on the part of respondent authorities, petitioner has approached this court by way of instant writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner approached the Financial Commissioner (Appeals-I),Punjab-respondent, by way of ROR No.225 of 2007 against an order dated 31.10.2006 passed by the Commissioner, Ferozepur Division, Ferozepur. Petitioner also filed an application for stay vide Annexure P-7 dated 20.2.2007. He further submits that neither the stay matter was taken up nor the revision petition has been decided, despite lapse of inordinate long period of about 9 years. He concluded by submitting that petitioner would be satisfied, in case the Financial Commissioner is directed to consider and decide the revision of GREESH SAHNI 2016.08.11 12:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner at some length and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, lest it should prejudice the rights of either of the parties, Financial Commissioner (Appeals-I), Punjab-respondent is directed to look into the matter, consider and decide the above said revision of the petitioner at an early date, by passing an appropriate order theeon, strictly in accordance with law, but in any case within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. The Financial Commissioner is also directed to take up the stay application within a period of one week from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and pass an appropriate order thereon, in accordance with law.

With the above said observations made and directions issued, present writ petition stands disposed of.
