By virtue of instant petition preferred under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners have sought issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to release the balance payment of contributory provident fund by calculating the same @ 10% of the total salary (+salary as defined in clause 12.3 of Panjab University Calendar, Chapter-VIII (E) Vol.-I) w.e.f. 1984 along with interest @ 12% p.a. 2.

At the very outset of the arguments, learned counsel for the petitioners submits petitioners feel satisfied in case direction is issued to respondents to consider and decide the demand notice dated 01.03.2018 (P-4), which was duly served upon the respondent, within a stipulated period. 3.
