(Oral) Today, at the very outset, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present petition and that the trial Court may however, be directed to expedite the trial. In view of the aforesaid request, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
Since, the petitioner has been behind bars since the last more than 1 1⁄2 years, the trial Court is directed to take necessary steps as may be possible under the prevalent circumstances of spread of pandemic to make efforts for expediting the trial provided that counsel for the accused extends full cooperation for the same.
