ASHOK KUMAR VERMA, J. (ORAL) Prayer in this Criminal Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of a roving writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the official respondents to produce detenue-Sumandeep Kaur D/o Narinder Kaur (petitioner herein), who has illegally been detained by private respondents No. 5 to 8. Pursuant to the order dated 27.07.2022, passed by a co-ordinate Bench of this Court, detenue-Sumandeep Kaur, has been produced in Court today. On asking, she states that her date of birth is 24.10.2001 and her educational qualification is 10+2. She further states that presently she is residing happily with respondent No. 6-Anmolpreet RISHU KATARIA 2022.08.18 15:35 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CRWP-7185-2022 -2Singh S/o Navdeep Singh in live-in relationship, at Baba Deep Singh Ji Colony, Chheharta Chowk, Amritsar, on rent. She does not want to go along with her mother-Narinder Kaur (petitioner herein) who is present in Court today.

Learned counsel for respondents No. 5 to 8 has placed on record a copy of order dated 21.07.2022, passed by a co-ordinate Bench of this Court in CRWP-6963-2022 'Sumandeep Kaur and another Vs. State of Punjab and others', whereby the joint petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, filed by detenue-Sumandeep Kaur and respondent No. 6-Anmolpreet Singh, seeking protection to their life and liberty at the hands of private respondents was disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, to decide the representation posted vide receipt dated 14.07.2022 moved by petitioner No. 1 and grant protection to the petitioners, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. In view of the above facts and circumstances of the case and keeping in view the statement made by the detenue in Court today, no further action is called for and detenue-Sumandeep Kaur who is 'Major', is free to go to any place according to her choice. The instant petition is disposed of, as having been rendered infructuous.
