The petitioner has sought extension for purchase period of .32 pistol and rifle, in the arms licence 351/DM/Jind/Aug./12 by moving an application dated 3.3.2017 (Annexure P-6) before District Magistrate, Jind. Through the instant writ petition, the petitioner seeks extension of the above said period. As the request of the petitioner vide Annexure P-6 is pending before District Magistrate, Jind, who has got jurisdiction to grant relief to the petitioner, in accordance with the provisions of Arms Act and rules framed thereunder, the petition is held to be pre-mature. However, in the interest of justice, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, Jind to consider the request (Annexure P-6) of the petitioner for extension of time to purchase the above said weapons, within a period of two months after the receipt of the certified copy of the order. It will be appreciated in case a speaking order is passed on the request (Annexure P-6) of the petitioner.
