JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The seven petitioners, who are working as Sub Divisional Engineers with the Department of Water Supply & Sanitation, Punjab, have directed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution seeking a writ of Certiorari for setting aside the impugned seniority list dated 03.8.2012 (P.3) showing respondent No.3-Parveen Kumar as senior to them despite their having catched up respondent No.3 in the cadre of Sub Divisional Engineer before respondent No.3 was further promoted as XEN vide order dated 16.8.2013 (P.7); with further directions to quash the impugned order dated 14.02.2013 (P.6) rejecting their representations as also order dated 16.8.2013 (P.7) vide which respondent No.3 has been promoted as Executive Engineer. At the time of hearing, learned counsel for the petitioners informs this Court that petitioner No.1 has since been

CWP No.20077 of 2013 #2# promoted whereas petitioner Nos.2 to 7 have been given the benefit of seniority thereby rendering the present writ petition as infructuous.
