Prayer in this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to correct the pension in accordance with law by calculating the ad-hoc service of the petitioners from the date of joining PRTC with a further prayer to calculate the salary by granting assured career promotion increments of 4-9-14 years of service by calculating it from the date of joining instead of any subsequent date and after revising the salary and pension pay the arrears along with the interest.

Learned counsel for the respondents/Corporation, at the outset, submits that under Regulation 6(2)(iii), only the regular service rendered by an employee can be considered for determining qualifying service for pensionary benefits. Since the petitioners have not challenged the validity of the 1992 Regulations, the present writ petition is not maintainable.
