The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to grant one notional increment to the petitioners for the pensionary benefits on completion of one full year of service in view of judgment dated 16.03.2022 (Annexure P-1) passed by this Court in CWP No.32598 of 2019 titled as "Gurdev Singh and others vs State of Punjab and another", along with interest @ 9% per annum from the date when it became due till its realization.

Learned counsel for the parties are ad idem that the present writ petition is squarely covered by the judgment passed by this Court in CWP-32598-2019 titled as 'Gurdev Singh and others vs. State of MOHD YAKUB 2024.11.29 18:34 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh
CWP No.16546 of 2022 Punjab and another' and other connected cases, decided on 16.03.2022, which has been upheld by the Division Bench of this Court in LPA-696-2022 titled as 'The State of Punjab and another Vs. Malagar Singh', decided on 09.04.2024 and the same has been generalised by the State Government vide letter dated 10.07.2024, issued by the Finance Department, which has been adopted by the respondent - PSPCL vide Finance Circular No.24/2024 dated 11.07.2024.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of in the same terms as in CWP-32598-2019 titled as 'Gurdev Singh and others vs. State of Punjab and another' and other connected cases, decided on 16.03.2022, with a direction to consider the claim of the petitioners for grant of annual increment within a period of three months from today and necessary benefits shall be released to the petitioners within a period of one month thereafter.
