The present writ petition was filed with a grievance that the amount of compensation on account of acquisition of land has not been paid to the landowners.

The issue was taken up in larger public interest as number of petitions were being filed in Court with a grievance that despite acquisition of land, the compensation was not being paid to the landowners. During the pendency of the writ petition, substantial amount has already been paid. As submitted by learned counsel for the State, as on today about `484 Crores are due to be paid to the landowners and out of which, substantial amount is pertaining to the land, where litigation under Section 24(2) of the Right to Yogesh Sharma 2018.07.11 11:59 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No.12463 of 2017(O&M) Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, is pending. It was submitted that undisputed amount payable to the landowners shall be disbursed within a period of one month from today.

Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, no further orders are required to be passed in the present writ petition. The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly.
