The petitioner was working as Sub Inspector at CRPF Camp at Pinjore, District Panchkula. In departmental proceedings initiated against the petitioner, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Pinjore dismissed him from service vide order dated 29.08.2014. Thereafter, the petitioner filed an appeal against the order of dismissal before Inspector General of Police (IG), Chandigarh, who dismissed the same vide order dated 17.11.2014.

Feeling dis4satisfied with the appellate order, the petitioner preferred statutory appeal dated 12.01.2015 before the Director General, Central Reserve Police Force which has been duly forwarded to the Director General, Central Reserve Police Force, Jammu and Kashmir Zone, Group Centre, Bantalab (Jammu) for final disposal. Vide letter dated 11.03.2015, the office of Director General, CRPF, Jammu & Kashmir Zone has sought service book, record of the departmental enquiry and other relevant papers from the office of Inspector General, CRPF Circle, Chandigarh. CWP No. 17094 of 2015 Learned counsel for the petitioner states that despite a lapse of more than seven months, no decision has been taken on statutory appeal filed by the petitioner. He further submits that he would be satisfied if a direction is given to the respondents to take action on the appeal filed by the petitioner.

In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the statutory appeal expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 19.08.2015
