These cases involve similar issues and therefore, are being disposed of together by this common order.

Learned counsel submit that Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994, that has been relied upon by the respondents in the speaking order also has been interpreted in favour of the petitioner(s) in the case of Mini Grover vs. State of Punjab and another, 2015 SCC Online P&H 14222 and as a matter of fact, the petitioner therein was not ward of Ex-serviceman as has been wrongly stated in the impugned order to reject the claim, rather she was similarly circumstanced as the petitioner(s) and it was held by the Court that there was no requirement of passing the Punjabi test before the last date of submission of application but should be prior to date of appointment.

In wake of the above, learned State counsel has produced a copy of order dated 26.05.2025 passed by the Secretary, Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab, to state that the impugned order shall be withdrawn forthwith and HAMANT 2025.05.27 16:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-14645-2025 and CWP-14944-2025 the matter shall be considered afresh, within a period of 2 months, keeping in view the aforesaid submissions, in accordance with law, which satisfies the learned counsel for the petitioner(s).
