(ORAL) The present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of Inida has been preferred by the petitioner seeking direction to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to produce the detenue namely Muskan, who is in the illegal custody of private respondent Nos.5 to 7.

It is, inter alia, contended by learned counsel for the petitioner that apprehending danger to the life and liberty of her daughter, who is in illegal custody of respondent Nos.5 to 7, the petitioner had moved a representation before the Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, but till date no action thereon has been taken. He has supplied a photocopy of the representation dated 19.05.2025, which is taken on record. He submits that for the purpose of this petition, the petitioner will be satisfied if directions are given to respondent No.2 to consider and dispose of the representation SANDAL SHARMA 2025.05.19 18:29 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Jatinder Pal Singh, Sr. DAG Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State and submits that the aforesaid representation will be disposed of in an expeditious manner in accordance with law.

After considering the respective submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner and the averments made in the petition, without commenting on the merits thereof, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Amritsar, to consider and dispose of the representation dated 19.05.2025 in accordance with law in an expeditious manner. The decision so taken be intimated to the petitioner as well.
