1. It is contended that the petitioner who was serving as Sub Inspector is not being given further promotion pursuant to recast of seniority which had the consequence of the petitioner losing several years of seniority.

2. It has been submitted that several other persons were protected by creation of 'dying cadre' posts whereas the similar relief has not been extended to the petitioner.

3. Upon an advance copy of petition having been supplied to State, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab has put in appearance on behalf of respondents and has informed that the matter is under active consideration by the State and that the case of the petitioner shall also be taken up therein.

4. In view of the aforestated position, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1-State of Punjab through Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Home Affairs and Justice, to consider representation dated 29.4.2021 (Annexure P-18) and Legal notice dated MOHAN SINGH 2023.07.12 18:56 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment
