The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of anticipatory bail in respect of a case registered vide FIR No.70 dated 29.9.2019 at Police Station Dhilwan, District Kapurthala, Punjab under Sections 341, 506 and 34 of Indian Penal Code.

At the time of issuance of notice of motion on 8.9.2021, the following order was passed:

"The case has been taken up for hearing through videoconferencing. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that after lodging of FIR parties have entered into an amicable settlement. CRM-M No.54174 of 2019 for quashing of FIR on the basis of compromise is pending before the High Court for 12.11.2021. PANKAJ KAKKAR 2021.11.12 15:55 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

In the meanwhile, petitioner is directed to appear before the SHO/Investigating Officer to join investigation on 15.09.2021 at 11.00 a.m. and in the event of his arrest, he shall be enlarged on interim bail, subject to his furnishing requisite bail bonds/surety bonds to the satisfaction of Arresting Officer. However, petitioner shall abide by the conditions as envisaged under Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.

Nothing expressed hereinabove shall be construed to be an opinion in the merits of the case. The case shall be decided on the merits on the adjourned date.

Learned State counsel, upon instructions from DSP Shahbaz Singh, has informed that pursuant to interim directions issued by this Court, the petitioner has since joined investigation and is not required for any custodial interrogation.
