The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondents No.2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and for taking legal action against respondent No.5 for commission of forgery and fraud, with a further prayer that the investigation be conducted outside jurisdiction of District Patiala through some higher rank police officials.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that for redressal of his grievance, the petitioner has already filed representation dated 22.03.2025 (Annexure P-3) before the Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh, however, no action has been taken on the same till date. 3.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case and in view of the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the concerned authority to decide the representation dated 22.03.2025 (Annexure P-3) filed by the petitioner, qua threat perception in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner, is perceived.

It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
