Main Case
1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had approached this Court challenging order dated 26.5.2023 passed by Special Director General of Police (Annexure P-9) to the extent that candidature of the petitioner for the post of Assistant Financial Officer had been rejected
( 2 ) wrongly on the ground of ineligibility, whereas the petitioner as a matter of fact is duly eligible

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondents-authorities came to a conclusion regarding the petitioner being inelligible on the ground that there was a discrepancy between UDIN (Unique Document Identification Number) based CA attested salary certificate and the online details which had been uploaded on the portal by the CA. Learned counsel submits that there was similar discrepancy in some other case and on account of which the time was extended to by the respondents-authorities to submit CA certificate. It has further been submitted that the petitioner's CA had uploaded fresh details of petitioner's experience which duly matched with the experience certificate which had been submitted earlier and that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant petition with a direction to respondents to consider the case of the petitioner in accordance with rules while duly taking into account the documents as have been furnished by the petitioner.

4. On the asking of this Court, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab who is present in the Court accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
5. Learned State counsel submits that the case of the petitioner shall be considered in accordance with rules and in case the petitioner is found eligible, necessary steps shall be taken thereupon.
6. In view of the aforestated position, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the State to consider the case of the petitioner in accordance with relevant rules and law. The petitioner shall appear before respondent No.4Special Director General of Police on 23.8.2023 and may apprise him about
( 3 ) the correct factual position. Needless to mention, in case it is found that the petitioner has furnished the requisite documents beyond the cut-off date/extended cut-off date, this order shall not confer any right upon the petitioner.
